I have added some pages that may be of interest. Goose Control & Goose Facts.

Dam inspection:
Update 2/1/2004: The dam inspection for 2003 has been completed and the report will be posted soon.
We are having some more rock hauled in to fix some erosion on the east side of the spillway as requested in the inspection report. We had to hire a new engineering firm to do the inspection this time and they produced a nice report. We are in good standing with the Water Resources Board.

We are required by the State of Oklahoma Water Resources Board to have the dam inspected every 3 years.
Posted 8/4/03: We had several loads of rock hauled in to stop erosion by the lake drain. If you want to see why this is really important, read the article about the Knight Lake Dam Troubles. The maintenance of the dam is one of the primary responsibilities of the association.

7/17/2002: We gave installed the electric pump for the expanded irrigation system.
If you have not been to the dam area for some time, I invite you to take a walk and visit the area, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
WARNING: The spillway is slick. Even a small flow of water over the spillway can sweep your feet out from under you. Do not walk through water flowing over the spillway!
Please warn your kids to stay clear.
Fishing from Hefner bridge was a problem.. We have posting new signs on both sides of the bridge. The City has posted signs on the bridge. The game wardens can fine any nonresident fishing from the bridge for "fishing in a private lake without permission". All directors of the Association are authorized to sign the complaint. This seems to have eliminated the problem.
A walk-through gate has been installed on the east side of the dam. Keys will be issued to members who request them after signing a waiver recognizing the potential hazards of the area. Members wanting a key to the gate should contact the directors.

The Gate is Locked
The drive through gate to the dam area is locked with a keyed padlock. The combination lock got lost and so many people had access, it was becoming a neighborhood nuisance and a potential liability for the homeowners especially with the heavy spring rains.
The residents in the area say this has really cut down the traffic.
